COvid-19 update

The Home Community Church Board has unanimously decided that we will not have Sunday Services for the next two weeks. There will be no services at the church on March 22 and March 29. We will also close the Church Offices until April 1. The Staff will be working from home. We are also suspending all activities at the Church until April 1.

As you may know, the CDC and the Federal Coronavirus Task Force have issued guidelines to slow the spread of the Coronavirus. These include avoiding social gatherings in groups of ten or more. The Board, as well as the Church Staff, feel it is important that we do our part in slowing the spread of the virus, and complying with the guidelines recommended by the CDC experts. Our response to the threat is not based on fear, but on love and consideration for our church members and community, and respect for government authorities. We also want to be good stewards of the health resources available, helping to preserve critical health services for those who will need them most. The guidelines also recommend staying home if your sick, staying home if your children are sick, staying home if you are older or have an underlying health condition, not eating or drinking at restaurants or bars, avoiding discretionary travel, not visiting nursing homes or long-term care facilities, practicing social distancing, and practicing good hygiene.

We will be posting our entire service, announcements, worship, and message, on our podcast at 9am on both March 22 and March 29. The podcast can be found on our website or iTunes. We will post the links at the bottom of this page. If you need help with that please reach out to me, Pastor Carlos 775-771-2202. Our church website and Facebook page will be updated regularly. I am available if you need prayer or assistance in any way.

If there is someone you know who does not have internet access, please call them and give them this message and let me know what I can do to assist. Also, if you know anyone who does not know Christ and the peace He gives, please have them call me. I would be honored to speak with them in regards to the salvation message.

As we all know, church is not the building, it is you and I. Although we won't be under the same physical roof, we will all be in one spirit. So we encourage you to not lose heart, but while you are listening to the podcast, engage with us in worship. Whether you are standing or sitting on your couch, set some time aside the next couple Sundays and join us. Just a small word from us to you, Jesus tells us that we will have troubles in this world, it's a guarantee. However, He also promises that we have victory through our faith, because Jesus Christ has overcome the world! (John 16:33) We are facing some uncertain times, but be encouraged to press on knowing that we are overcomers through Christ. Please know that we are praying for you all.

With love,

Pastor Carlos and Mike McDaniel (Chairman of the Board)
