Text Box: Today we are celebrating the way God has moved His people in the Raise the Roof campaign. While we have a tendency to focus on the financial success of this campaign, raising more that $50,000 in giving already and more than $10,000 still pledged to come in, my prayer is that we see that this was about more than money.

Along with raising dollars, we have looked at who God has called this Community of Holy Friends to be… a disciple-making body of believers that reaches out to our “whole” community and even beyond - to the world. We are called to do that through:

We understand that worship is far more than singing – worship is living each day in such a way that God is glorified (that He looks good) by our lives. Worship is putting Him in the center of who we are individually and corporately as a body of believers.

We have also recognized the need to connect both with God and with one another. Connecting with God involves moving deeper in our understanding of Him, learning who He is and what He desires for us. Connecting with one another is vital in getting a better
understanding of God as well as being held accountable for putting that understanding into action in our lives.
God has not only called everyone in the Body of Christ to serve, both the church and the community, He has also gifted us to be effective in that service. All of God’s people have the calling to serve and use the gifts He’s given to do so.

The call of the church is not to be held exclusively by those already in the faith… It is clear that Jesus
intends for the church to follow His pattern of including everyone in the embrace of His grace. The rich, the ordinary and even those living on the margins of society were all a part of Jesus’ ministry and He calls us to make the invitation open to any and all who would respond.

So… raising the roof is nothing more than a way to help us continue on this mission – but our mission CANNOT be confined to this facility. We are also to GO… in to our world.

Because of God’s leading us to be generous, we will have some funds that reach beyond the need of
repairing our roof… those funds will be used, at the
Properties Ministry Team direction, to tackle some other CAPITAL (building and grounds) needs.

Thanks for listening to God – He is doing abundantly more than we can imagine by His power working in and through us.
