Easter 2007
God’s Mulligan

The Mulligan is: a do over, another chance, a clean slate, a start over…

NO QUESTIONS ASKED…

1.  If there is one way humans consistently underestimate God’s love, it is perhaps in His longing to Forgive

Luke 7:36-50 ~ The Message

“…I suppose the one who was forgiven the most.”

“…Do you see this woman?

"…She was forgiven many, many sins, and so she is very, very grateful."

“…Your faith has saved you. Go in peace.”

Exodus 34:6-7 ~ New International Version

… “The LORD, compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, 7maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin….

God is very patient, He is the Lord of the Second Chance

2.   But in real life … PGA rules make no provision for mulligans.

The Bible declares that God’s unswerving commitment to justice and God’s undying longing to forgive intersect at the cross.

3.  I just made an investment in you.

   Peter, rebukes Jesus… revelation

Peter sinks in the water… miracle

Peter denies Jesus… resurrection

Redeeming is what God is into!

His favorite department is “LOST and FOUND

He is the God of the do over, the Lord of the second chance…

Take a Mulligan!
