I thought that I could make it, I pushed too far. 

Many believers find themselves on the side of the road, frustrated, disappointed and out of joy. 

How did this happen?

We fail to see is that Worship is the joy filling station for believers! 

Ps 69:32 - The humble will see their God at work and be glad.  Let all who seek God’s help live in joy.

Psalm 84

"Loving God means rejoicing in God, being … glad to be in God's presence… rejoicing in God simply because it is God who is involved, and because we are permitted to know and have God, and to speak with and live with God."  -- Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Worship is the most important thing a Christian can learn to do because it’s the key to God’s presence.

When we are in His presence we will experience joy as we respond to his love, mercy and instruction.

There are four things that make worship - worship.

1.   Honesty – “God, this is where I am today…” - sad, angry, happy, bored, etc. 

Psalm 24:3-5 - Deut. 24:5

Clean hands - free to stay at home

Worship requires nothing blocking my relationship with God.  

2.     Humility – True worship won’t happen when it’s all about us! 

Laying aside our agenda and submitting to the Lord. 

Lev 23:27 - 2 Chron. 7:14

The result?

Ps 69:32 - The humble will see their God at work and be glad.  Let all who seek God’s help live in joy. NLT

3.      Honor …  1 Cor 6:19–20

With our lives!  All I do is worship!

4.     Heart Change – Hearts open to change. Ps 51:10

To be in the presence of God with an honest, humble and honoring heart will always bring about change. 

Isaiah, Moses, Abraham -  Their service, their leading even their fathering were acts of worship and filled them with Joy!

Worship is a great joy for the true child of God. It also fills us with great joy!
